About Gigi

Gigi Guyana ("Gigi," "we," "us," or "our") provides an online marketplace designed to help people and businesses in Guyana discover local work opportunities, post gigs, connect with workers, review applicants, agree on job terms, and manage marketplace activity.

Gigi is currently operating as a public Beta. Features, workflows, availability, and functionality may change as the platform develops.

Eligibility

You may use Gigi only if you are legally permitted to enter the transactions, work arrangements, and agreements you choose to enter through the marketplace.

You are responsible for determining whether any age, licensing, registration, employment, tax, immigration, professional, insurance, safety, or other legal requirement applies to you or the work you offer, request, or perform.

You must not use Gigi if doing so would violate applicable law, a court order, or another legal restriction that applies to you.

Your Gigi Account

You are responsible for information submitted through your account and for activity performed while authenticated to your account.

Account information should be accurate, current, and not intentionally misleading.

You are responsible for protecting your password, device, authentication session, and other account credentials.

You must not knowingly allow another person to impersonate you, misuse your account, or use your account to bypass Gigi's rules.

Contact Gigi if you believe your account has been compromised or is being used without authorization.

One Account, Multiple Marketplace Roles

A Gigi account may be used to find work, apply for gigs, post gigs, hire workers, or participate in other marketplace activities that Gigi makes available.

A person does not necessarily have a permanent "worker" or "hirer" role. Your responsibilities may depend on the role you are performing in a particular gig or completed transaction.

User Profiles

Profiles may include information such as a name, profile photo, professional title, location, skills, categories, biography, experience, availability, portfolio content, ratings, reviews, and other marketplace information.

You are responsible for ensuring that information you place on your profile is accurate and does not unlawfully infringe the rights of another person.

Do not place passwords, payment credentials, government identification numbers, or other highly sensitive information in publicly visible profile fields.

Posting Gigs

A person posting a gig is responsible for providing information reasonably necessary for workers to understand the opportunity.

Gig information may include the title, category, description, location, budget or proposed pay, expected date, expected duration, number of workers needed, required skills, tools, requirements, and other relevant details.

Gig posters must not intentionally create misleading listings, fake opportunities, fraudulent offers, unlawful work requests, or listings designed to collect information for improper purposes.

A posted budget does not necessarily create a final agreement. Final terms may depend on the agreement reached between the relevant users.

Applying for Gigs

Workers may apply for eligible gigs through Gigi when the application feature is available.

Applying for a gig does not guarantee selection, employment, payment, future work, or acceptance.

Applicants are responsible for the truthfulness of their application information, profile information, skills, experience, availability, and other representations.

Hiring and Applicant Decisions

Gig posters are responsible for evaluating applicants and deciding whom they wish to work with.

Gigi may provide profile information, application details, marketplace activity, reviews, or other information to support user decisions, but users remain responsible for their own hiring and work decisions.

Acceptance of an applicant may open a Gigi job agreement or related workflow between the selected participants.

Job Agreements

Gigi may provide tools allowing a gig poster and selected worker to review, propose, revise, and confirm job terms.

Agreement information may include the scope of work, price, payment type, location, date, time, duration, notes, and other terms relevant to the job.

Users should review the terms carefully before confirming them. Once both participants confirm the current terms, the agreement may be treated by Gigi as confirmed for marketplace workflow purposes.

Starting and Completing a Job

Gigi may provide job-status controls such as confirmed, in progress, completed, cancelled, rescheduled, or other marketplace states.

A status displayed on Gigi is intended to help participants coordinate marketplace activity. Users remain responsible for the actual work performed, communications, safety, payments, and obligations connected to the job.

When completion confirmation is available, each participant should confirm completion truthfully.

Payments

Users may see gig budgets, proposed prices, agreed prices, or other payment-related information within marketplace records. Those records do not mean that Gigi has received or secured payment.

Until an integrated Gigi payment system is introduced, users remain responsible for agreeing on and handling payment between themselves using lawful methods.

If Gigi introduces integrated payments, deposits, milestones, refunds, or payment protection, additional terms may apply.

Cancellations, Changes, and Rescheduling

Gigi may provide tools for participants to cancel, change, or reschedule marketplace activity.

Users should communicate material changes promptly and should not intentionally misrepresent availability, job conditions, scope, location, price, or scheduling information.

Additional cancellation, rescheduling, deposit, refund, or payment rules may be introduced if Gigi adds integrated payment services or other marketplace protections.

Reviews and Reputation

Gigi may allow participants in eligible completed jobs to leave ratings, written reviews, compliments, or other reputation information.

Reviews should reflect genuine marketplace experiences.

You must not knowingly submit fake reviews, coordinate false ratings, impersonate another reviewer, manipulate reputation, threaten someone for a particular rating, or exchange improper benefits for deceptive reviews.

Gigi may remove or restrict review content that violates these Terms, applicable law, or marketplace policies.

Safety and User Responsibility

Users are responsible for using reasonable judgment when communicating with, hiring, meeting, entering property with, working for, or performing services for another person.

Depending on the job, users should consider appropriate precautions, tools, protective equipment, qualifications, licenses, supervision, insurance, transportation, site access, and emergency procedures.

Do not perform work that you are not legally or reasonably qualified to perform.

Prohibited Conduct

You must not use Gigi to:

• commit or facilitate fraud, theft, scams, deception, impersonation, or other unlawful activity;
• post fake gigs or fake work opportunities;
• knowingly provide materially false information;
• harass, threaten, stalk, intimidate, or exploit another user;
• distribute malware, malicious code, or harmful software;
• attempt unauthorized access to accounts, databases, systems, or other users' information;
• interfere with the operation or security of Gigi;
• scrape, harvest, or collect marketplace information in an unauthorized manner;
• misuse another person's identity or personal information;
• manipulate applications, reviews, reputation, or marketplace activity deceptively;
• publish content you do not have the right to use;
• use Gigi to arrange activity prohibited by applicable law; or
• assist another person in violating these Terms.

Taxes, Licenses, Permits, and Legal Requirements

Users are responsible for determining and satisfying legal, tax, licensing, registration, permit, employment, business, insurance, professional, and reporting requirements that may apply to them.

Gigi's availability in a location does not mean that every service offered through the marketplace is legally permitted for every person or circumstance.

User Content

Users may provide profile information, photos, gig descriptions, application information, reviews, messages, attachments, and other content.

You retain responsibility for content you submit and represent that you have the right to provide it.

By submitting content for use in the marketplace, you permit Gigi to host, store, process, reproduce, display, and transmit that content as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, maintain, and improve the service.

This permission does not transfer ownership of your original content to Gigi.

Gigi Branding and Platform Content

Gigi's name, branding, logo, website design, software, marketplace structure, original graphics, and other platform materials may be protected by intellectual property laws.

You may not falsely present yourself as Gigi, copy Gigi branding in a misleading manner, or use Gigi materials to impersonate the platform or deceive users.

Third-Party Services

Gigi relies on third-party services and technology providers for parts of the platform, including website infrastructure, hosting, authentication, databases, security, domains, and related technology.

Gigi currently uses Firebase technology for important marketplace infrastructure and Squarespace for website presentation.

Gigi may also link to or integrate with third-party websites or services that have their own terms and privacy practices.

Marketplace Disputes

Users may disagree about job quality, scope, scheduling, communication, completion, payment, property condition, conduct, or other marketplace matters.

Gigi may provide reporting, support, documentation, or dispute tools where available, but Gigi does not guarantee that every disagreement can be resolved through the platform.

Gigi may review relevant marketplace records when responding to reports, safety concerns, fraud concerns, account issues, or disputes.

Suspension and Account Restrictions

Gigi may restrict, suspend, investigate, or terminate access to some or all marketplace features when reasonably necessary to protect users, investigate suspected misconduct, respond to legal requirements, protect the platform, or enforce these Terms.

Gigi may also remove, restrict, or preserve marketplace content or records when reasonably necessary for security, legal, fraud-prevention, dispute, or operational purposes.

Service Availability

Gigi does not guarantee that the platform will always be available, uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every device, browser, network, or third-party system.

Features may be added, removed, changed, tested, limited, or temporarily unavailable as Gigi develops.

Because Gigi is in Beta, users may experience bugs, incomplete functionality, design changes, or temporary service interruptions.

No Guarantee of Work or Results

Gigi does not guarantee that a user will receive applications, be selected for a gig, obtain work, find a worker, earn a particular amount, complete a transaction, receive a particular rating, or achieve a particular business result.

Marketplace results depend on many factors outside Gigi's control, including user decisions, location, availability, skills, demand, pricing, communication, and job conditions.

User-to-User Transactions

Users generally enter work arrangements directly with one another.

Except where Gigi expressly states otherwise for a particular service, Gigi does not guarantee another user's identity, qualifications, work quality, reliability, honesty, safety, licensing, insurance, ability to pay, or ability to perform.

Users should make reasonable independent decisions before entering a transaction or allowing another person access to property, equipment, confidential information, or funds.

Disclaimer of Warranties

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Gigi is provided on an "as available" and "as is" basis.

Gigi does not promise that every listing, profile, application, review, message, user statement, job outcome, or other marketplace interaction will be accurate, complete, safe, suitable, reliable, or free from error.

Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or protections that cannot legally be excluded.

Limitation of Responsibility

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Gigi is not responsible for losses caused solely by independent conduct between users, including disputes concerning work quality, payment, scheduling, property, personal conduct, or representations made by another user.

Gigi does not seek to exclude responsibility where liability cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

Privacy

Gigi's collection and handling of personal information is described in the Gigi Privacy Policy.

Changes to These Terms

Gigi may update these Terms as the marketplace, technology, features, legal requirements, or business practices change.

The "Last updated" date will be revised when these Terms are updated.

If a change is material, Gigi may provide additional notice through the website, account experience, or another appropriate communication method.

Governing Law

These Terms are intended to operate subject to applicable law in Guyana and any other mandatory law that applies to a particular user, transaction, or dispute.

Nothing in these Terms is intended to remove or waive legal rights that cannot lawfully be removed or waived.
